Getting started

Your first JMeter analysis in eight steps. Follow the checklist from test run to shareable report.

  1. Step 1

Run your JMeter test and save results

Add a Simple Data Writer or run in CLI mode: jmeter -n -t plan.jmx -l results.jtl. CSV and XML formats both work.

  2. Step 2

    Open the JTL Analyzer

Drop your .jtl or .csv file in. On the free tier it's parsed entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

  3. Step 3

    Read the summary cards first

Check total samples, error rate, throughput and the 95th percentile to get a quick health verdict.

  4. Step 4

Find the slowest and failing transactions

Use the aggregate table, Slowest Transactions and Passed / Failed tables. Filter labels to focus on what matters.

  5. Step 5

    Validate against your SLA targets

Set p95, average and error-rate thresholds. Each transaction gets a PASS or BREACH badge.

  6. Step 6

    Inspect the graphs for trends

Response time and throughput over time reveal warm-up issues, gradual degradation and leaks.

  7. Step 7

    Compare against a baseline

Load a previous run to see per-transaction deltas and catch regressions after a deploy.

  8. Step 8

    Share the results

Copy tables straight into Confluence or Word, or with Pro save the run, export a PDF and generate an AI conclusion.
